Did you know about this? Well I did not until now and I would love to have a look at this beautiful Christmas train! That’s what I want for Christmas..LOL:)
Its official name is Canadian Pacific Holiday Train and is operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway. According to Wikipedia, the Holiday Train started in 1999 during the months of November and December. It travels across Canada and United States with the objective of raising money, food and heart healthy awareness.
The Holiday Train celebrates the holiday season and collects donations for community food banks and hunger issues. The Holiday Train also provides publicity for Canadian Pacific and a few of its customers. Each train has a box car stage for entertainers who are travelling along with the train.
The Holiday Train celebrates its 18th year anniversary this year. It has been faithfully running this program for the past years to create awareness on hunger and collect food donations for various local food banks. At each station it stops, there will be a show featuring performers Jonathan Roy, Kelly Prescott and Doc Walker. Every pound of food and dollar raised at each stop stays with the local food bank to help feed those in need in that community.
I think this is probably the only train in the world that is decorated with bright colorful Christmas lights and for a such a noble cause. I think this program is successful because it touches the heart of the people in the community. Whoever came up with this idea is truly brilliant! It definitely lights up and warms my heart when I watched the video. Can’t imagine how happy and excited I would be if I can get to see the real thing! Having said this, as we approach the holiday season, let’s remember to do our part to spread joy and share love with those who are less fortunate. God bless you!
